Kelowna Organizing Cycle Training November 5

Based off of successful organizing practices from the Obama for America campaigns and the engagement organizing framework developed by Marshall Ganz, this interactive two-day training with Organize BC will give participants a grounding in organizing practices to successfully create distributed leadership teams to work on campaigns. As a participant, you can expect to walk away with a deeper understanding of what it means to be an organizer in your community, and have practical next steps to implement.

Organizing Cycle trainings provide a 1-day crash-course in using engagement organizing for canvassing-driven organizing campaigns. The majority of the day is spent teaching tools on Building Relationships, along with complementary skills from Telling Stories, Structuring Teams and Canvassing. In this highly interactive and participatory training, participants learn the ‘Organizing Cycle’: all of the skills required to support a person through the journey from new supporter to canvasser to a volunteer canvass leader who recruits other volunteers.

Who is it for? Organizing Cycle trainings are appropriate for anyone, staff or volunteer, who is interested in organizing on a canvassing-driven campaign: staff organizers, volunteer team leaders, canvass leads, recruitment leads, data entry leads or phone leads.

The training is on November 5th, 2016 from 9:30am to 5:30pm. We will provide coffee and tea. Please bring a lunch for yourself. If anyone is able to bring snacks for the training to share with everyone, we'd really appreciate it!

The training location is still being finalized, but will be in Kelowna. We will post information here as soon as we have nailed down a location.
